Daylight Savings Weekend - Change Your Smoke Detector Batteries and Teach Your Kids Fire Safety!

    Last updated 3 years ago

You probably remember learning about fire safety when you were young. Maybe you took a field trip to a local fire station. Maybe the local volunteer fire department came to your school. However you learned fire safety, the lessons may have saved your life.

This weekend, when you turn your clock forward on Sunday morning, check your smoke detector batteries. Replace them if you haven't recently.

But don't stop there. Take a moment and visit www.FireFacts.org to help your kids learn all of the basics of fire safety. It's a great resource for learning and teaching about being prepared (with smoke detectors and knowing two ways out of your home) and dealing with fires (stay low and GO!).

Your kids may never experience a fire emergency but you have to take the time to get them prepared. It's not hard and it's not scary - spend 30 minutes teaching your kids about fire safety this weekend!

Propane Sales, Delivery and Service in the Santa Cruz Mountains - The Kamps Propane Dream Team

    Last updated 3 years ago

There are an amazing collection of communities in Santa Cruz County. Redwood forests, vineyards, artist colonies, farms and coastal towns - this area has an ecclectic mix that satisfies many souls.

We serve all of these communities - Soquel, Aptos, Redwood Estates, Los Gatos, Watsonville, Royal Oaks, Corralitos, Scotts Valley, Felton, Pajaro and Lexington Hills.

We hear the local options for propane delivery service aren't well-known for great value. The prices tend to be high and the service doesn't satisfy many of the area residents.

The solution is our Santa Cruz County dream team! It's a group of experienced propane professionals who work together to deliver better service to the homes and businesses in the area. They have a combined total of over 50 years experience in propane delivery, propane service, propane sales and propane customer support.

From the left, Bill Smith (Service Technician), Lora Brazil (Account Executive), Robert Swan (Route Sales) and Scott Lencioni (Lead Route Salesman). These are exceptional people and we're proud of the service they deliver in Santa Cruz County! They work from our office in the SF Bay area (Hayward) but they spend most of their time on the Peninsula and around Santa Cruz.

If you live in the area and you want better propane service and reasonable pricing, give us a call at (510) 471-7279.

Happy Mardi Gras - Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler!

    Last updated 3 years ago

Let the good times roll indeed. We've had a few days of reasonably wet weather and although the drought is still a big threat to our immediate future it feels great to see rain!

The colors of Mardi Gras (purple, green and gold) all represent elements to celebrate on this special day. Purple stands for justice. Green represents faith. Gold is the color for power. In California's wine growing regions, all three colors are found on our vines - and they occasionally end up in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Go figure!

We may be a long way from Bourbon Street and the craziness of a full-blown celebration of Fat Tuesday but we're celebrating the arrival of wet weather that lasts for days instead of minutes.

We stand with our growers - looking to the skies, hoping for an abundance of late winter precipitation to bring snow to our mountains, water to our lakes and blossoms to our fields!

Kamps Propane Almond Blossom Festival Drawing Winners - Congratulations to Norm & Ann Billings of Ripon Ca

    Last updated 3 years ago

We spent last weekend in the sunshine at the Almond Blossom Festival in Ripon. It was a terrfic event where we visited with old friends, made new friends and pretended it was Spring!

What a difference a week makes - it's raining now and it will hopefully rain all weekend!

Good fortune is a beautiful thing - it also brought Norm and Ann Billings to our Manteca office this week. They are the winners of our Almond Blossom Festival drawing so they stopped by to pick up their new Camco Olympian 4100 barbecue! It's always fun to meet the winners when you give away a new barbecue!

Many thanks to the people who stopped by to test their skills at our putting contest, enter our drawing or just say hi! If you have a great festival on your schedule, let us know and if we can fit it in, we'll see you there!

It's Time for the Almond Blossom Festival in Ripon!

    Last updated 3 years ago

The last weekend of February is the first weekend of the festival season in the Central Valley. The white blossoms on the almond trees mark the arrival of longer days and warmer weather ahead.

Credit the folks in Ripon to celebrate this beautiful blossom with a full-blown family-friendly festival! The Ripon Chamber of Commerce does an awesome job of supporting this terrific event.

Everything you could want in a festival will be on display this weekend - meet the Almond Blossom Queen, run in the early-morning fun-run, watch the Almond Blossom Parade, see the diaper derby and go to the carnival. There will be great food, local vendors and fun for the kids all weekend long.

The weather is going to be beautiful so come on down and join the fun. Make a point of stopping by our booth -we'll have a fun game that you can't lose and we'll be here all weekend!
