Let the good times roll indeed. We've had a few days of reasonably wet weather and although the drought is still a big threat to our immediate future it feels great to see rain!
The colors of Mardi Gras (purple, green and gold) all represent elements to celebrate on this special day. Purple stands for justice. Green represents faith. Gold is the color for power. In California's wine growing regions, all three colors are found on our vines - and they occasionally end up in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Go figure!
We may be a long way from Bourbon Street and the craziness of a full-blown celebration of Fat Tuesday but we're celebrating the arrival of wet weather that lasts for days instead of minutes.
We stand with our growers - looking to the skies, hoping for an abundance of late winter precipitation to bring snow to our mountains, water to our lakes and blossoms to our fields!
